Mailboxes that are 4B+ compliant, such as the 1400/1500 horizontal series, will only be considered USPS Approved if they are replacing existing mailboxes. Be sure to check with your local postal authority before undergoing any changes to your buildings mail system. Further details on the new mandatory regulation can be found on page 14.

	STD-4B+ was implemented in late 2004 and applies to apartment mailboxes. This USPS regulation requires improved Arrow lock compartment security on all horizontal and vertical wall-mounted mailboxes. In many cases, the STD-4B+ product designs include hardened Arrow lock bracketry and master gate doors as well as the removal of an outgoing mail slot.
