Step 1 1. Establish correct location, allowing for enough set back, as to not interfere with the street. 2. Dig hole at a depth of 18" to 24" deep, and 8" to 10" round, depending on soil conditions. 3. Establish post length (3-1/2" x 3-1/2" pressure trended lumber) leave about 1" below the top of lowest mailbox hole. 4. Pour cement to top of hole leveling concrete at top of hole to a smooth and even surface. 5. Leave area around post; create a 24" x 24" smooth and even surface. 6. Allow concrete to set 24 hours prior to Column installation. Step 2 1. Install column over post, this might require help from a friend. 2. Apply Liquid Nails Molding Adhesive to post at base and access through mailbox hole, making sure to shim at the bottom of the column to keep column plumb. Step 3 1. Apply Liquid Nails to access hole at mailbox installation hole, making sure to work glue into sides of post using a putty knife. 2. Allow adhesive to dry making sure column is plum, drying time will vary depending on weather conditions. Step 4 1. Apply a liberal amount of adhesive to the inside portion of mailbox cut out. 2. Slide mailbox into hole, using care as to keep the adhesive from getting on finish surfaces. 3. Shims may be required to get a uniformed look. 4. Allow drying time depending on weather conditions.
