Keystone Series Replacement Hinge Parts
Product Description
SPRING KIT
This kit fits Keystone Series models manufactured prior to 2002.
The kit includes a rod that functions as the actual hinge mechanism, and the rod itself is mounted to the door using two small screws. It is the only model incorporating a spring on either end of the rod. The door for this model is no longer in production, but the hardware kit can still be purchased if needed.
Replacement instructions are included with each replacement kit.
SHOULDER BOLT KIT
This kit replaces hardware for Keystone Series doors manufactured circa 2002 to 2005. The rod is not secured directly to the door
– rather it “bows” into the heads of two Allen-style bolt heads. The door itself is casted with a “loop” on either bottom side. One Allen-style bolt is positioned through this “loop” on each side and threaded into the mailbox itself. The actual bolt serves as the hinge mechanism on each side. There are no springs, and the rod’s primary function is to maintain bolt integrity and to hold rubber door cushions. The replacement door IS available, but at time of order the hardware kit needed must be designated as either this kit or the ¼ Bolt Kit below.
1/4” BOLT KIT
This kit is for Keystone Series Mailboxes manufactured after 2005. While the replacement door is the same as 2002-2005 mailbox doors, these bolts are “thicker” (larger in diameter) where they thread into the mailbox. Therefore, the holes are larger and utilize a different thread. The rod serves the same function as in the Shoulder Bit Kit and there are no springs included. The bolts used in this kit have Phillips-style drive heads.
NOTE:
Shoulder Bolt and ¼” Bolt style doors are incompatible with earlier Spring style doors and Spring style assemblies are unable to be updated to newer versions.
